Does a black tuxedo and white dress shoes work?

I have a nice pair of white dress shoes at home and I don't feel like spending more money and going out to buy a pair of black dress shoes for prom. Do you guys think that would be ok? I tried the match together and it looked decent. Your answer is appreciated! Thanks!
