Why do my dress shoes feel so uncomfortable?

I just bought allen edmonds yesterday and when i wear them they look very long and narrow and i feel like it looks weird. Is that how dress shoes should look? Also, i feel like the tongue is digging into the front of my foot. Do i just need to get used to wearing dress shoes?

5. They should look fashionable not weird and they should not hurt your feet. Everyone has different shape feet you just have to find the shoe that works for you.
6. If you usually dont wear dress shoes that might be the reason that they feel so uncomfortable. Usually heels dont feel good but they get more comfortable the more you wear them. If you say the shoe is narrow and possibly you have wider feet... this may be why they hurt so much so you might want to just return them cause you can help the shape of your feet. But if your feet are rather slim and so is the shoe then it might just take some time to get use to them. Hope this helps!
