Why do southern girls dress up for college football games?
I always notices the girls in sundresses or party dresses at football games... usually standing next to guys completely painted head to toe or wearing a hoody with their team's name on it. This seems to be only a southern thing, though, because girls in the North don't dress up for football games.

- Because this is the only time they are allowed to leave the house.
- Sounds like tradition to me.
- Because in the South, dear, football is very important, and us Southern girls want to look our best at these events. Of course we're going to look better than the girls in the North -- bless your heart. Honestly, when I went to college (Auburn), it was a tradition to dress up for the games, but only if you had a date. It was really fun.
- Because civility still counts down South. And they're freaking hot. Oh, and because, unlike Ann Arbor girls, they shave their legs and underarms.
- tradition. we southern girls want to look classy. i read a quote the other day that sums up football in the south. "In the East, college football is a cultural exercise. On the West Coast, it is a tourist attraction. In the Midwest, it is cannibalism. But in the South, college football is a religion, and every Saturday is a holy day." – Marino Casem, Alcorn State University That basically says it all. Some people dress up for church. Southern girls dress up for football. Mary B. - WAR EAGLE! Yahoo!... grow up annarbor - yes we shave. ty for noticing. :-)
- why ask why? just enjoy the worlds prettiest gals!
- I guess football passes for high-brow culture in the South.
