Why do southern girls dress up for college football games?

I always notices the girls in sundresses or party dresses at football games... usually standing next to guys completely painted head to toe or wearing a hoody with their team's name on it. This seems to be only a southern thing, though, because girls in the North don't dress up for football games.

1. Because this is the only time they are allowed to leave the house.

3. Because in the South, dear, football is very important, and us Southern girls want to look our best at these events. Of course we're going to look better than the girls in the North -- bless your heart. Honestly, when I went to college (Auburn), it was a tradition to dress up for the games, but only if you had a date. It was really fun.
