Why do girls think that they have to dress ostentacious (revealing) just to get a guy?

I think that if a girl wants to get a guy, she should be herself and be modest. Do guys really like it when a girl dresses like a skank? And if so, why? Do guys like good girls, that dress appropriatly?

If more and more men start to notice women who are dressed "appropriately", and not women who are wearing revealing clothing, then that's how we'll dress. 10. Girls or woman feel that they need to live up to TV; models; and society. They feel they have to dress seductive in order to get a man. But the point is its mutual attraction not what you ware. Personally, I get more attention dressing in regular clothes. And the best thing is that I'm comfortable.
11. If you think that you have to dress a certain way, well that is the type of guy that you will attract. Dress how you would dress in any occasion and if a guy likes you then he will like you for who you really are. All ways be yourself.

13. i don't think all girls wear dress ostentaciously.. however i think the reason they do it is because guys prefer girls who wear skimpy clothes.. guys well, most guys judge girls from their appearance so girls tend to dress revealingly to attract their attention..
14. It's the quickest, easiest way to attact a guy. Whether or not the guy is only after that, it gets their attention very easily. It's also possible for a 'good girl' as you put it to attract the attention of a guy, but it takes longer, though something tells me that would end up being MUCH more meaningful.

17. Based on my male sources GIRLS THAT DRESS SLU**** immediately appear attainable. Therefore, certain men give them a quick attention fix. Then maybe they start to believe that that is the only way they will get attention, so they keep dressing that way. In the end she becomes a perpetual appetizer while nice girls that show more personality than skin end up being life's main course.
