Girls Dress

What sort of dresses and skirts should I own?

I'm fed up of wearing jeans all the time so I'm starting to invest in dresses and skirts but I have no idea wear to start. Links would be useful I'm an 18 year old art student at a firther education college. So it would be for everyday. I'm useless when it comes to fashion and my friends aren't interested in fashion. 5ft 7, hour glass. I don't dress slutty but more conservative.

  11. geez some people are rude. start with some neutral colors (black brown white) and build off of that. you can play them up with your style like adding belts and jewelry. its not hard to know your style just go with whatever catches your eye and what you can see yourself wearing.
  12. well, art student is reminding me of boho-chic. long, cotton dresses. or maybe like hippie-style clothes.
  13. There are some rude people on here. Very hard to answer this one for you. Determine what stores have items in the price range you want to pay, Go to some of these local stores and see what they are selling. Try them on and see what you feel comfortable in and what looks could on. I would use the shop assistants / retailers. If they are not much help try another store till you find one that is. Let them be your guide as they are selling everyday. Try and get someone a little bit older as they will be more interested in you as a long term customer not just as a sale today. Let the salesperson know what situations you will be wearing the outfits in. Also don't buy everything at once - buy some generic items and try them out and see the comments you get. Once you are comfortable the choice is right go back and buy the rest. All the best.
