Can a school legally make girls wear only skirts and dresses?

My mom enrolled me in a private Christian school starting next year and they have a really strict dress code. Girls have to wear skirts and dresses everyday and they even require that all students follow all their rules even off campus and during non-school hours. This includes the dress code. I don't mind having to wear dresses to school, but all the time? My mom just says that I have no choice but to follow school rules. Can a school legally do this?
