Why is it inappropriate for an older woman to wear short skirts and dresses?

I think as long as they have a good body its okay. I mean like there not over weight or have lots of cellulite (not trying to offend anybody here). I heard that once you were over like 25 you should not wear mini skirts and short dresses because you are to old. I don't see why it is considered inappropriate for women past that age to dress that way.

1. It is seen as an attempt to retain a youthfulness that their bodies belie. I don't usually think of age as a barrier to wearing youthful clothing, my thoughts are almost always triggered when I see a young lady in revealing clothing walking with her mother who is wearing the same style. Usually doesn't work well and causes me to wonder why the mother is afraid of maturing with the rest of us. That doesn't mean wearing frumpy old people clothes, but aceepting that our bodies change with time and different clothing can make them as youthful and good looking as any young ladies. Don't get started on topless or muscle shirted old guys - the cells they are put in shouldn't have windows!
