How do women brave the cold and wear skirts/dresses in winter?

I am just wonder how women are able to wear skirts during the winter season. As a crossdresser, I have never worn a skirt outside, but a friend of mine wants to take me for a girls night out, and she wants me to wear a this mid thigh skirt. Or is it that I have to bear the cold for the price of wearing a skirt?

4. most women wear stockings underneath. or colored tights can add a cute fashion statement. leggings are also an option, but if you want to be discreet, wear stockings
5. Anything for fashion hun ... and I mean ANYTHING!! What I do is ... I wear a skirt and then of course long boots .... I also wear skin colored tights or stockings under neath the boots ... and the other KEY THING is .. a " LONG WARM COAT" thats fashionable and in. I have this princess cut long black coat which ran down my ankle and stopped about 3 inches from teh ground. So with the help of good boots the whole outfit looks cute ... and of course as soon as you get inside .... its warm and cozy and everything is cool/hot and comfy.
