How many girls roll the top of their school skirts over to make it shorter?

Me and lots of my mates get their skirts shorter by rolling the top over. My mum doesn't like me doing this because there are so many boys at our school. I say that it doesn't matter and looks cooler. What do you think?

4. Everyone in our school just buys short skirts ot begin with :P but it is an all girls school, so my mum doesnt nag as much.

10. if your mum knows you do it why not buy a smaller skirt? doesnt it just make your stomachs look fat?

12. I used to roll the top of my PE shorts because they went down to my knees. I say if it's too long then why not
13. i do, but thats because my skirt is very very long there is nothing wrong with it

16. I've never done it before now, and the only reason I do is because the skirt I have is 5 in below the knees. I just roll it till it's at the knees like everyone else's.
17. You're talking about uniforms, right? My school doesn't have uniforms, but we can't wear skirts or shorts (or dresses, I guess...) that go shorter than the pad of our palm if we put our hands straight down by our sides. I guess it doesn't matter as long as your skirt doesn't go TOO short...
18. I think every girl rolls up their uniform skirt... and not because they want to be skanky, but it looks better. At normal length (past the knees) it looks very granny-looking. I did it when I was in high school and I attended an all girls school
19. I did when i had to wear a skirt in middle school :] My high school now doesn't allow us to wear skirts, BECAUSE girls did it so much. But if we could still wear them, I still would haha.

23. I went to an all girls school with 850 pupils and my guess would be that 90% of them rolled up their skirts coz it looked cooler. our principle did uniform checks on a regular basis where u had to get on ur knees and if ur skirt didnt touch the floor u got detention! Them were the days!

27. My better half had a chuckle at this, they did it in her day too. As soon as she was out of sight of the house, up came the skirt. Okay as long as she didn't forget to put it back to regulation length before getting home. And that was more years ago than I dare mention . . .
28. hahaha, i used to that back in high school. i was never skanky tho. and it was an all girl school. its just something we all did. i look back at it now and i just laugh... unfortunately at that age i couldnt see how dumb that was. but thats what life is all about. you live and u learn. no matter what anyone says, your not going to find a problem with rolling up ur skirt (not that there really is one). but when ur older, ur just going to laugh about it... but trust me, it makes funny stories in the future. so live! and listen to ur mom; they always know whats best for u! and thats the scary honest truth!

Your mom doesn't like it probably because she knows that boys are perverted ^^ But, you are in control of what you do and I don't know how high you hike your skirt up, so I'm not going to judge you and call it skanky. Sure it's a little pointless, as you all look the same to begin with ... but people do those sort of things when all their friends do it too. When I was in school, everyone thought it was cool to steal cigarettes from the teachers and hide them in our shirt sleeves for lunch. I'm still hooked ;) Too bad I wasn't too busy hiking my skirt up to be stealing cigs

33. I used to do this too! It can okay as long as nothing is tucked in and you don't roll it up too short! I rolled mine up after I got to school and rolled it back down again on the way home...
34. we used to - but that's cos we had to wear a specific type of skirt which was always just below your knee. it was a pleated one, so you couldn't roll it more than twice or the skirt stuck out like a tu-tu. :)

37. i did it =]] because my teachers checked our skirts then i could just pull it down.. but i did it because mty skirt was big... and very long.. but my friend had a really short skirt.. so she had to make it look long so she unzipped it and pulled it down so it would long.. and she nvr got caught!! =]]
38. haha i used to do that but its uncomfortable and i could care lesss what i look like at school its at the partys you wanna look good at. if i have to get up early and get dressed for a six hour school day i atleast want to be comfyyy
39. I did it for one term. Then I cut it (got it taken up) by some sewing lady.

41. I used to roll mine up when I was at school. Yes I went to a mixed school. My school had a rule about the length of skirts so we were breaking the rules when we rolled them up. So we had to be careful when and where we did it.
