What to wear with jean shorts and skirts?

So I got me some jean shorts and skirts from "Pac Sun." But I don't know what kind of shoes to wear with them. I don't like Flip Flops. So please don't suggest that. Thanks its really been working on my mind!

1. I usually wear shorts or skirts with sneakers or high tops. Sometimes, I put it with some knee high socks and it looks pretty cute. Hope that helps. :)
2. I think jean shorts and skirts look cute with flats and low top converse. They come in many colors and are cute.
