Girls Dress

Does wearing skirts and dresses increase your chances of being sexually assaulted?

Seriously. Im moving up towards chicago in a semi-bad area and i love to wear skirts or dresses everyday, and dress cutesy. they go to the knee or past the knee. Now i know its not the womans fault, and it doesnt matter what theyre wearing, its still not their fault. But does it attract the weirdos to you if your dressed cutesy?

  1. TO BE HONEST ID SAY BOTH OF THOSE QUESTIONS MEAN YES...WEARING THOSE KIND OF CLOTHING ARE VERY ALERTING TO PREDATORS THEY PREY ON WEAK LOOKING ONES! SO DRESSS UP BUT NOT OVERLY....MAINLY JUST BE CAREFUL AS YOU SAID IT IS NEEEEEVVVVVVVERRRR THE WOMANS FAULT!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Not necessarily. Granted, if you dress provocatively that's going to give you a bad image, and probably increase your chances.
  3. You know I am quite the feminist ... and I hate that people would believe that this makes women (from the abusers perspective) more likely to want it, or deserve it. I don't believe that obviously anyone should be owed such treatment or should it ever be justified by any means... But I have to say that of course this is something I have contemplated whether this runs through the minds of the mentally insane... and really who is to say .... I am sure that every abuser has a preference in an abusee unless he is just looking for anything... But for me personally I have taken this in to consderation and in liffe I have come to realize I don't like neg. attention... like the crude complements we tend to get... and the unasked for gropes and touches recieved... so I have adjust the way I dress because I believe it does bring on the attention I so much despise... especially cause I have been a victim... I don't know if that answers your questions by any means but just my opinionated thought out loud... I say we dress how we feel comfortable... carry a can of pepper spray... a tazer (were it's legal lol) or a legal knife... take some good self defense and pray for the one that attempts to make a move on a well educated female :) :)
  4. well showing off your body and legs could increase the chances. people are different, some people don't give a damn what you are wearing while other people become very attracted to legs and bare skin. So all i'm saying is: just be careful, there are lots of weirdos out there. hope i could help:P
  5. Ur fine if its to the knee or below but if it's above then your showing your legs and trust me my cousin obsesses over girls legs so make sure you don't dress trashy because remember if you want to be respected you have to respect your self first.
  6. I hate it when guys do that/act that way towards women. It pisses me off and makes me want to punch them in the face. Though I wouldn't do so unless they actually tried pulling something on me. Haha...... I think you should continue wearing what you like as long as it isn't too revealing and just be careful when you have to go places alone. Like the other girl said, learn to defend yourself and carry around something like pepper spray or a large pocket knife for protection. :)
  7. frankly telling you the answer to both the questions is yes...if a girl wears a short skirt...she is more likely to be a victim of eve teasing than others...
  8. well it might draw more attention to u, but when u think about it, if somebodys going to rape/assault you, they will still do it regardless of what outfit ur wearing. if theyre willing to assault u and given the chance, i dont think ur outfit matters.
  9. I don't think it matters. I get negative attention whenever I dress in sweats or bland clothes. Perverts are looking for someone who appears vulnerable both mentally and physically.
